I was standing near the escalator and suddenly noticed a young mother who tried to force her daughter to stand on a moving stage. The child, who looked about four years, lagged behind, clinging to the railing and cried: “no, No, mom, I’m scared!” The mother, whose hands were full of parcels, continued to pull the child “don’t be such a baby, and she said to her – I’m embarrassed for you. There is nothing terrible”.
At this point, tall silver-haired man, who was waiting to get on the escalator, leaned over to the little girl and said, “You know what it is? This is the ladder for young rabbits. At night when the store is closed, they jump on the stairs. It’s their favorite game. But during the day the rabbits are scared of people and hide, allowing boys and girls to go on their stairs for the night.” The girl looked at him. Then with a serious expression trustingly took his hand and together they went up the escalator.
“How wonderful”, I thought to myself. Must this man has children and grandchildren, since he knows so well to distract the child. But something about this situation forced me to return again and again to her. Everything was so cute and yet something was wrong.

The development is mainly characterized by qualitative changes, the appearance of tumors, new mechanisms, new processes, new structures. The most important signs of development, it is differentiation, the early dismemberment of the former integral unit; the emergence of new parties, new elements in the development; restructuring of the relations between the parties object. The problem of knowledge cannot be considered separately from the problems of the development Continue reading
Education of the individual in Japan is very different from traditional education in other countries. Those rude phrases, which are easy to hear on our playgrounds: “you’re bad”, “now I will punish you” it is impossible to imagine there. Even if the little Japanese boy would fight with my mother or felt-tip pen to draw on the white door of the store, no strict punishments and reprimands will not follow. Up to 5-6 years old child here everything is allowed. Such liberal tradition of educating absolutely not fit into our ideas about how to raise children.
The basis of education in Japanese society is a tolerant and friendly attitude to a young child. Such permissiveness in childhood, adult Japanese citizens are law-abiding and ability to live by the interests of the team and company.
What we consider minor offences: beer behind the wheel, a conflict with a fight on holiday, journey on forbidding signal of a traffic light, – it is impossible for Japanese. To live is required by the rules. Break the rules (“losing face”). That in Japan, children are taught from early childhood, is the basis of education.
Amazing result? Actually, the education of the individual in Japanese society is constructed so that Continue reading
